Terms and Conditions

(OMODA & JAECOO Malaysia Professional Affiliate Programme)

  1. The list of eligible organisations, associations, institutions and/or corporation is subject to change at the sole discretion of JAECOO Auto Malaysia Sdn Bhd (“JAMSB”).
  2. In the case of an eligible corporation, the vehicle purchased must be registered under the company name.
  3. In the case of an eligible individual, the vehicle purchased must be registered under the individual's name or that of his immediate family member (spouse, parents or children).
  4. Registration under immediate family member will require documentation proof such as marriage certificate or birth certificate, whichever applicable.
  5. Customer shall submit all required documentations to JAMSB's authorised dealers, failing which the application will not be processed by JAMSB.
  6. Eligible customer shall only be entitled to all the benefits or the purchase of brand-new OMODA & JAECOO vehicle from JAMSB's authorised dealers.
  7. The applicability, computation and allowances of the benefits in each purchase shall be subject to approval by JAMSB at its absolute discretion.
  8. All decisions made by JAMSB are final and no appeals or discussions will be entertained.
  9. JAMSB reserves the right to terminate the Professional Affiliate Programme at any time without prior notice.
  10. By submitting the application to JAMSB's authorised dealers, the customer affirms that he has read, understood, and agreed to the policies in JAMSB's Privacy Policy and consent to his personal data being processed and used by JAMSB as stipulated in the said Privacy Policy in OMODA & JAECOO official website.
  11. Only cars manufactured in 2026 are eligible for PAP.
  12. These Terms and Conditions may be amended, replaced and/or deleted at any time in JAMSB's sole discretion.

With 2025 behind us, Malaysians are eagerly awaiting what's next in the OMODA & JAECOO line-up to launch in 2026. Well, coming up first is the JAECOO J5, the smaller sibling to the JAECOO J7, the premium off-road SUV that made a splash in the country two years ago when it launched. 

The JAECOO J5 isn't just a shrunken version of its bigger brother, the J7, however. Let's go under the hood and see how OMODA & JAECOO's new premium SUV in Malaysia makes a compelling case for adventure-seekers, in a compact yet very capable package.  

Robust Engineering    

The JAECOO J5 may be a compact B-segment SUV, but it's got proper off-road-ready DNA engineered into its bones like its siblings in the OMODA & JAECOO family. 

Most B-segment vehicles cut corners with a rear torsion-beam suspension but not here in the J5. This "Everyday Superstar" SUV steps it up with an independent rear multi-link suspension. 

What's the big deal, you ask? For adventures beyond well-tarred roads, independent suspension allows for each wheel to respond to terrain without unsettling the entire vehicle, providing better traction and keeping you and your passengers planted. Without it, you'll end up tossed around like crash test dummies whenever you hit bumps or gravel roads.  

On urban roads, especially potholed ones that populate Malaysian cities, it means a more composed, comfortable ride. Definitely a huge plus for a daily-driver: "Everyday Superstar" indeed. 

Added to this are good ground clearance and approach and departure angles, making this new premium SUV capable of clearing obstacles that ordinary SUVs can't. With 23,500-m/deg body rigidity, this certainly will be a robust long-distance companion. 

Smart And Safe   

Adventure-ready vehicles aren't just about deploying brute force; it's about smartly delivering power when needed.The J5 is powered by a 1.5-litre TCI turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 108 kW (147 PS) and 210 Nm of torque. This might not sound like much but the engine features latest-generation intake-integrated intercooling and integrated exhaust manifold (IEM) cylinder head technologies, paired with a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that delivers smooth shifting and responsive power, especially on winding rural roads.

Safety systems include a full-suite of comprehensive level 2+ Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, low speed follow, collision mitigation systems and more. 

Furthermore, a 360-degree camera system boosts confidence for drivers confronting challenging terrain by allowing you to see exactly where your wheels are.
